Fed’s Beige Book Finds Manufacturing Shifting Into Higher Gear
WASHINGTON—Economic activity expanded at a moderate pace across most of the U.S. this spring, driven in part by a pickup in manufacturing activity despite trade tensions, according to a Federal Reserve report released Wednesday.
Most of the Fed’s regional districts reported moderate economic growth in late April and early May, the Fed said in its latest roundup of anecdotal information about regional economic conditions known as the beige book.
